The SC1 is the first mini spindle on the market to offer turners a high quality solution for those who regularly turn small. It is on modern 3 axis CNC machines with strict tolerances. The jaw supports are made using a metal injection molding process, which imparts high tensile strength to these critical components, ensuring it retains its strength and holding power even when operating at the extremes of mandrel capabilities. The slip rings and sprockets are made using a precision casting process to ensure high tolerances and repeatable accuracy. The SC1 is supplied without adapter, in order to use it you need to use the thread for your lathe. It is also a perfect match for the SC4 chuck, as the inserts fit universally between both chucks. It also has a very compact 53.5mm (2 ") diameter body and a total length of 70mm (2 3/4"), including the insert. This allows for easier access around the part, making it ideal for turning very small objects. The chuck comes complete with wood screw, standard 40mm dovetail jaws, chuck wrench and jaw fixings. A range of SC1 compatible jaws is available. This was developed in collaboration with experienced wood turners, offering maximum flexibility to tackle most of the applications that are needed from a mini spindle.

This is not the first spindle of the turner and it is not the only spindle he must own, this is an additional complement spindle for machining small parts.
